Learn about freight options from China to Vietnam
Besides land transportation, sea and air freight from China to Vietnam are also attractive options for your logistics needs. Both countries have long coastlines, multiple international ports and many international airports. The proximity of the two countries and short transit times are beneficial for companies with time-critical supply chains.

Air Freight from China to Vietnam:
The biggest advantage of air freight is its speed. Items leaving China can arrive in Vietnam within 1-2 days. This is the best option for high-value items as they take less time in transit. However, with this speed, there are some tradeoffs.
Air freight is usually more expensive than ocean freight. It’s also better for small items, as airlines have weight and volume restrictions. Airfreight also uses more fuel than alternatives, so if the carbon footprint is an issue for you and your company’s ethics, you’ll want to choose ocean freight.
Keep in mind that air freight usually only involves delivering the goods to airports in Vietnam, not to the final destination of the inventory. Additional shipping facilities must be provided to deliver your shipment to its final destination. The exception is, of course, if you have arranged door-to-door shipping. As mentioned above, door-to-door delivery allows arranging the transportation of goods from the airport to the final destination, as well as customs clearance through Vietnam Customs.
Shipping from China to Vietnam
LCL (LCL): By LCL shipping, your cargo shares container space with other companies’ products imported from China to Vietnam. LCL is often the most cost-effective method for businesses shipping smaller shipments.

Full Container Load (FCL): With FCL shipping, you have exclusive use of the shipping container. Your shipment will be completely sealed in the container from origin to destination. FCL shipping is not only faster than LCL, but also cheaper.
How much does it cost to ship goods from China to Vietnam?

The nature of the goods
Selected shipping method (FCL, LCL, Air)
cargo weight

Not sure whether to choose air or sea freight? If your consignment weighs less than 100kg, you may find little difference in cost between air and LCL sea freight. For shipments over 100kg, sea freight usually becomes more economical.
If your shipment weighs less than 35kg, you may wish to opt for an international courier service instead of hiring a freight forwarder.
